Private Reserve Torrontés 2015

Loscano Private Reserve Torrontés is produced from the Torrontés Riojano grape. Considered the best of the Torrontés sub-varietals, this crisp yet complex white wine comes from Cafayate, Salta, the premier region home to the world’s best Torrontés. Grown at more than a mile above sea level, the elevation and reduced atmosphere produce extreme thermal amplitude swings and results in a wine exploding with flavor. Consistently dry conditions—lacking humidity or much rain—means there are virtually no diseases or pests to contend with. The vines thrive in the arid environment, nourished by pure water irrigated from the melting snow of the Andes. Loscano Torrontés is put back on the lees during aging, increasing the aromas and integrating the flavors for complexity and balance. The ancient genetic cross of Muscat of Alexandria and Criolla Chica, this is Argentina’s only native varietal and is a food-styled wine with youthful acidity.

Wine

Private Reserve Chardonnay 2015

Loscano Private Reserve Chardonnay comes from the higher regions of Valle de Uco. In this higher altitude, the thermal amplitudes produce high levels of sugars and acidity during the longer growing season. Grown in the sandy and alluvial soils of Tupungato, where the gravel base provides excellent drainage. A warmer-than-normal year, 2013 saw an excellent Chardonnay vintage, producing thicker-skinned grapes and creating a wine with deeper color and bolder flavors in the mouth.

Wine

Private Reserve Malbec 2014

Designed to be true to its varietal, Loscano Private Reserve Malbec exhibits the traditional soft tannins yet full body this wine is known for. Traditionally vinified but using some of the latest winemaking technologies, the Private Reserve Malbec comes from an elevation of 3,300 feet—Argentina’s Primary Zone of Luján de Cuyo (DOC) where it is grown in sandy, loamy soil with deeper gravel layer for excellent drainage. 2011 saw ideally balanced weather conditions, making way for an exceptionally delicious vintage that showcases the best an Argentine Malbec can offer. Well-balanced and food friendly.

Wine

Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

The Loscano Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon proves Argentina can produce a cab that stands up to some of the best cabs in the world. Deep red in color and smoothly full-bodied with prominent tannins, this is a beautifully well-balanced wine from the higher elevations of Tupungato in the Uco Valley. This vintage benefitted from a year of balanced weather—ideal conditions for an extraordinary wine.

Wine

Private Reserve Merlot 2012

Loscano Private Reserve Merlot presents a delicate wine with an intense fruit-spice aroma. Grown on high-altitude heritage vines, we selectively manage to produce a low yield of high-quality fruit. This Merlot is made in more of an old-world style, with qualities similar to a Super Tuscan or Bordeaux. Very food-friendly and versatile, this wine pairs beautifully with many more options than steak alone. Showing ripe plum or dark red berries up front, this is a mediumbodied wine with very elegant tannins.

Wine

Private Reserve Capriccio 2013

As an homage to classic Bordeaux wines, Loscano’s Private Reserve Capriccio is a blend of our estate-grown Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. With expressive aromas of sweet and spice and a pleasant red fruit palate, this wine is sure to impress. Our grapes are grown on high-altitude heritage vines, selectively managed to produce a low yield of high-quality fruit. The varietals benefit from robust, loamy soil and arid-clean air, and are nurtured by the pure water from the Andes mountains. Sustainably, naturally produced and minimally processed in the high elevations of the Andes Mountains, Loscano Wines represent integration with nature and resilience in a homeland known for great wine.

Wine

Grand Reserve Malbec 2014

Loscano Grand Reserve Malbec steps up the elegance and specialness of the Argentine King of red wine. Grown in Agrelo, the premier subregion of Argentina’s first DOC, Luján de Cuyo, this wine represents the best of the best in Malbec. The grapes are grown on older vines up to 70 years old and managed throughout the growing season to 3.1 tons per acre. Vineyard workers tend the canopy and water to stress the grapes for a highly concentrated flavor. With its fruity bouquet and sophisticated structure, it is a multidimensional, fullbodied wine unparalleled in flavor and drinkability.

Wine

Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Loscano Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a delightful expression of this varietal from Tupungato in the Uco Valley that reopens the equation on Argentina as a single-varietal leader in the world. A stunningly enhanced and elevated flavor profile is the result of grapes grown on old vines in upper elevations where thermal amplitudes work wonders on this classic. A deep ruby red and full complexity of flavor is the result of careful, personalized attention.

Rubus Proprietary Red Blend Australia 2014

Tasting Notes: Deep, dark ruby color, aromas of blue fruits, confectionery and subtle licorice characters, thick luscious palate with good structure and soft finish.

The Blend is 44% Rubired, 31% Durif and 25% Shiraz.

Rubired is a cross between Tinto Cao and Alicante Ganzin (which is itself a cross between Alicante Bouschet and Aramon Rupestris Ganzin). It is known for being particularly adapted to the hot climate and producing dark wines, as the color is not only coming from the grape’s skin, but also from the grape juice itself. It was developed in 1958 by H.P. Olmo of the University of California Davis.

Durif, also known as Petite Sirah, is also a cross of two different grape varietals: Syrah and Peloursin. It was created by French botanist François Durif in 1860 while keeping Syrah and Peloursin plants under the same roof; it happened from a natural process called “cross-pollination.” The grape itself is known for its very aromatic, plummy character.

Shiraz, which we all know for being the most recognized grape varietal of Australia, brings some minty, spicy and fruity characteristics to the wines.
